About This Site

This site represents work I have done in two major areas of interest I have had for many years, namely Web technology and Photography.

My research into the world-wide-web was kindled by an informal training class by another Motorola employee, Mike Stanley.

Mike is one of those individuals that is enthusiastic about everything and loves to learn.  He self-studied HTML code and coding, presented an internal class to share what he had learned.    Thanks Mike, you are always pushing us with a smile.

Since then I have developed 5 generations of web sites for home use starting in 1990, using simple text editors up through the use of web site development software from Drupal, Wordpress, a few others, and now Adobe Muse.

In retirement I am working on developing applications for Android smart-phones.  Learning never stops.

About the photography on this site

My father taught my brother, sister and me the basics of photography back in the mid-sixties.

After moving to Phoenix in 1989, I found a large group of professional photographers, and non-professionals that were really interested in helping others to advance their craft.  Among that group are four friends that really helped my to explore new areas of photography.

  • Rod Klukas (professional photographer and instructor at Scottsdale Community College (SCC))
  • Roger Palmenberg (instructor at SCC)
  • Scott Ference (professional photographer, great photographer)
  • Miguel Salhuana (fellow Motorolan and photographer)
  • And many others through friends and classmates

I couldn't have found a more encouraging environment than what Phoenix has to offer.

This site then contains photos from this journey into Large Format Photography, Digital Photography, alternative processes like platinum printing, image transfers using Polaroid sheet film, and Alcohol hand gel.

That journey continues ...
